Mixtrack Pro is an entry level, USB powered, DJ MIDI Controller with built-in audio interface.
It is the bigger brother of the simple Mixtrack that shares the same features and layout but in lower price because there is no soundcard built-in.

It was the first decent Dj MIDI controller I bought, and I say decent because of the soundcard.
If you're djing you need to monitor your music on your headphones. A 'decent' controller is the one with a built-in audio interface to do this job. Otherwise you need to use a split cable wich I don't recomend using in clubs, even if most clubs play in mono, or to buy and carry a decent soundcard.

I loved it!! Yes, I really did. After using the Hercules DJ mp3 with the terrible rubber buttons and the M-Audio Xponent, wich has better quality but still rubber buttons, the Numark Mixtrack Pro was the ultimate tool!! I used it for many years from bars to clubs and it still sounds very good.

It is a lightweight plastic controller with big jog wheels, which were the biggest in the category, and the feeling was really great. So the controller has a symetric layout with the very basics, play, cue, stutter -which I really like to use- and loop buttons, 3 hot cues, pitch bend buttons and faders and a selectable fx unit with rotary controls for each deck. In the mixer section there are the usual 2 channel faders as long as the master fader in the middle of the console (!) a crossfader and a 3-band eq for each channel.

In the middle there is the browse encoder and the cue volume and mix knobs as well. The controller has 1 rca master output a 1/4" jack headphone output and a mic input -through- with volume control.

As I said it is lightweight but it is not small. The big jog wheels are responsible for this. The layout is good and not crowded, most controls are straight without shift functions, that means it is great for the inexperienced user as long as the advanced user that could use it as a backup unit or for small gigs.

The Mixtrack Pro, and the Mixtrack, were replaced with the Mixtrack & Mixtarck Pro II with the same features, smaller size and with the addition of performance pads. After they were replaced as well with the Mixtrack & Mixtrack Pro 3 introducing master vu meters, track search/fx strips and a filter knob for each deck . All Mixtrack Pro series are available as Limited Edition in white colour.
